Top Ten Gifts for Expecting Mums

For those of you who don’t know us, we’re Mrs Ooh (Ruth) & Mrs Aah (Barbara-Anne), and we’re self confessed Cookie Mumsters.

Yes, we are Girl Bosses but first and foremost we’re Mummies. We run a tight ship in work and a pirate ship at night, we bake and ship cookies Monday-Friday from letterbox personalised cookies to stuffed cookies…

Not only that, but Ruth is also expecting another little one to add to our Army of Mini Bakers. So we thought, why not list our Top Ten Gifts for expecting mums.

Our Top Five During Pregnancy

1. Spritz for Bits by MyExpertMidwife

We think this is a fantastic product, and it’s one Ruth has been gifted during her pregnancy. All new mums have been there, giving birth isn’t a walk in the park and chances are you’ll be quite sore after childbirth because of stretching, bruising and swelling. Spritz for Bits promotes healing and works together to help soothe discomfort after childbirth.

2. Personalised Weekly ‘Bump’ Journal

Pregnancy is a magical time, so gifting a journal to document all those special moments could be a really thoughtful gift.

3. Muslin Cloths

Technically this is a gift for baby, but if you’ve ever had to catch sick in your hands then you’ll know it’s for mum too. There is no such thing as too many which is why mums need to stock up early!

4. Slippers

Ever-expanding, swollen feet is a pregnancy symptom that seems to last the entire nine months. A good pair of slippers will give ‘mum-to-be’ a cozy place to slip her achy feet into at the end of a long day.

5. The Mum Uniform

As you know, we love our Ted & Stitch Uniforms and a future mum will need a uniform too. These Mama hoodies are perfect: fashionable, practical and it means you won’t have to think of what to wear on hazy mornings with little sleep.

Our Top Five For New Mums

1. Treats for the Night Feeds

When you have to get up a billion times in the night, what you need is sugar. It will really help you get through the night feeds! Chocolate works, but you could gifts our New Baby Girl or New Baby Boy cookies (because cookies are better than cards, right?)!

2. Ready Meals

Ok so you’ve just given birth and you’ve a cute baby who needs you all day, every day. With that being said, the last thing you want to do with a newborn is cook. That’s where ready meals or meal prep comes in! There’s nothing quite like a good meal that you haven’t had to make yourself. There are loads of options to choose from including Slim’s Healthy Kitchen or Reubens.

3. Insulated Travel Mug (and Coffee!)

Cups of cold coffee and tea are the sign you’re a mum, right? Travel mugs are your new best friend!

4. Booze

If whoever you’re buying for is planning to exclusively breastfeed, it might be an idea to check if they’re planning to drink. If you’re breastfeeding, it’s safe to have one or two, but not all breastfeeding mums choose to drink. But if there was anyone in the world who did deserve a drink, it’s the mum who’s just gone through hours of labour, so get a glass and pour generously please. Mrs Aah suggests wine, or for convenience Most Wanted Wines (canned and ready for wine without the whine).

5. Decent Hand Cream

Three words: nappies, nappies and more nappies! With a new baby it’s lots of nappies and hand-washing so hand cream is really an essential (and it will leave mum feeling like she has a self-care routine for a minute). There are plenty to try but we like Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream.
